In fact pain anywhere is the bodys way of telling you there is something wrong. Most aches and pains are due to structural problems that can be helped....Chiropractic may well be the answer! I took a 5 year BSc (Hons) degree culminating in an MSc graduating in 1999. I have since worked within both city and rural environments within Wiltshire and Surrey before relocating to London gaining considerable experience treating a range of conditions within babies, young children, adults and the elderly alike.
I am fully trained to take and interpret x-rays and read MRI/CT scans. I frequently work with GP's, orthopaedic surgeons and sport coaches to maximise and speed recovery. I am registered with the General Chiropractic Council and a member of both the British Chiropractic Association and College of Chiropractors. I am also BUPA and PPP registered and chiropractic is recognised by almost all health insurance companies.
What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic derives from the greek word cheir meaning hand and praktos meaning done; literally done by hand. It was developed in its modern form in the USA in the mid 1800s but there are written records referring to spinal manipulation dating from ancient greek and chinese civilizations. Chiropractic is the 3rd largest primary health care profession in the world after medicine and dentistry. A primary provider is one that can both diagnose and treat.
Chiropractic is a non-invasive profession that looks to encourage the bodys natural ability to heal. It does not involve the use of medication or surgery while acknowledging there are situations where this may be ultimately necessary. In this way it is appropriate care for aches and pains in pregnancy, for infantile problems such as colic and problems sleeping, and those stubborn niggles that have become constant pain with advancing age.
We look at how the joints, muscles and nervous system interact (neuromusculoskeletal specialists) and when dysfunction is detected we look to correct it. To do this we employ a variety of physical techniques but also look to rehabilitation, patient education and lifestyle modification to enhance and prolong recovery.
