Initial Contact
When you initially make contact with me I will arrange a home visit free of charge to discuss your requirements. This visit will take about 20 minutes and it will allow you to meet me, decide if you like me (how could you not?), discuss exactly what service your pet needs from me and allows me to meet (and play with) your pet. If you decide you want me look after your pet, either immediately or in the future, I will ask you to complete a couple of forms detailing your pet's likes and dislikes, what service you want and a form authorising me to act on your behalf at your veterinary surgery if an accident should befall your pet whilst in my care.
I require services to be paid for prior to commencement either in cash or by cheque (which I must have in time for it to clear). If you pay for a service and then cancel I will only refund your payment if I can book someone else into that time slot.
Dog WalkingDog walking can be arranged for dogs either singly or in groups (no more than 4 including my own dog) for periods of one hour. If you need your dog walked for a shorter or longer period I may be able to accommodate you - give me a call. The hour includes the travel to and from the area where the dog will be walked - I always endeavour to walk the dog close to your home. It is your choice whether or not your dog is exercised off lead (if I encounter any problems with your dog chasing livestock, joggers, cyclists, refusing to return or being aggressive towards other dogs or people then I will only walk him/her on lead).
I can also arrange to take your dog on an activity walk. This walk will involve half an hour of free walking interspersed with walking to heel on lead, sit, stay and coming when called. It is ideal for the hound who has decided to forget everything that he supposedly learned in training class. It is also good for dogs that get bored (and destructive) easily as it keeps their mind as well as their body active.
Home visits for cats and other small animalsHome visits can be arranged to suit the needs of your pet. If you have a cat I can come to your house twice a day to feed, clean the litter tray, play with and generally make a fuss of your pet.
For small caged animals such as guinea pigs, hamsters, mice or gerbils I can come once a day to clean out the cage and feed your pet(s).
This service would also be suitable for the early months of your puppy's life when 4 meals a day are needed (which unless you have a very understanding employer is almost impossible to accommodate) or for a convalescing animal that needs checking on and/or medication during the day.
Both of these types of visits can be added to basic security measures (bringing in the post/newspapers, closing curtains etc) to ensure that passing burglars can not tell that the house is empty for a few days.
Pet taxi/chaperone
If your pet needs to go to the vet, groomer or anywhere else beyond walking distance I can take him/her. I can also act on your behalf at the vet or groomer. Unfortunately, although I can transport your pet, I can not transport you due to the excess premium required to insure my van to carry paying passengers.
Other animalsDo you have a horse that you normally look after by yourself but need help with if you go away for a weekend - or maybe take another horse to a show for a day. Do fluffy pets leave you cold - are reptiles more your thing? Do you have a few hens in your back garden providing you with fresh eggs every morning? If it's an animal and you need help caring for it then give me a call and discuss your requirements.
Ani-Mate works in the BH23 and BH25 areas of Dorset and Hampshire. If you are within 4 miles of Walkford then you are in my area. Below are a list of places that fall within the area. Outside of this area I may still be able to help but at an additional charge.
