“SCHOOL MATHS IS BORING!”
Local student Reece, 7, said. “ All we ever seem to do is add up. I love Maths and really want to learn but in school I must wait for everyone else. I asked Mum to find somebody who could really teach Maths and she found Joy. Now I’m learning co-ordinates and leapfrog subtraction. Today we were using centimetres and millimetres. Joy teaches me cool tricks with mental arithmetic.”
Joy Wemms, an acclaimed Head of Maths and Leading Maths Teacher for Croydon and Westminster, was nominated for the National Teaching Awards “Best Secondary Teacher in 2004,2005,2006 and 2007. She has decided to leave the formal classroom to help Mr Brown with his mission to make the Nation’s Maths Lessons more inspirational and fun.
Mrs Knight, of Ewell, told the Southeast Advertiser “ To inspire someone whose confidence has been destroyed is a true gift. When my daughter first went to Joy she had got an E in her Mock and was really worried, yet after just one lesson she came out smiling. That smile never faded, it simply got wider when she opened her GCSE’s results and saw the A.”
It appears that Joy’s key to success lies in her ability to make learning fun and methods clear. Ross, 14, said “ My teacher thought I’d get a 5 at KS3. I only had six lessons but I learnt so much. I got at 6B and got promoted to the higher GCSE class.”
So how do you contact this Mathematical Phenomena? The details are on this page….but you had better be quick because her classes are nearly sold out and waiting lists are beginning to grow longer than those of National Health Dentists!
